Somali security forces destroy suspicious vehicle after 32 civilians killed in beach attack<br />At least 32 people were killed and dozens injured in an attack on a popular beach in Somalia’s capital, Mogadishu, late on Friday night in reprisals for a recent military crackdown on Islamist radicals.<br /><br />Security forces said they had killed all five of the men who were shooting at revellers at the thriving Lido beach area, while another detonated a suicide bomb at a hotel on the seafront. The Lido area is the favoured hangout of young Somalis during the Muslim weekend of Friday and Saturday.
