John Cabang sees silver lining after withdrawing from repechage due to injury

Filipino hurdler John Cabang had another shot to run and qualify for the semifinals but an injury led him to withdraw from the men’s 110-meters repechage of the Paris 2024 Olympics.

It was heartbreaking for him to not start the race, but Cabang looks ahead and focuses on the positive side.

“I did not race, but I am an Olympian for sure. Once an Olympian forever an Olympian, that’s the main thing,” Cabang said in an interview with The Manila Times via Google Meet.

Cabang also relished his experience in the Paris.

“It was an experience in the opening ceremony, we have the flag with us, I feel a lot of support from the Philippines. The people supported me a lot, and that’s kind of a family thing,” he said.

Video by Nicole Anne Bugauisan and Rio Deluvio

Subscribe to The Manila Times Channel - https://tmt.ph/YTSubscribe
Visit our website at https://www.manilatimes.net

Follow us:
Facebook - https://tmt.ph/facebook
Instagram - https://tmt.ph/instagram
Twitter - https://tmt.ph/twitter
DailyMotion - https://tmt.ph/dailymotion

Subscribe to our Digital Edition - https://tmt.ph/digital

Check out our Podcasts:
Spotify - https://tmt.ph/spotify
Apple Podcasts - https://tmt.ph/applepodcasts
Amazon Music - https://tmt.ph/amazonmusic
Deezer: https://tmt.ph/deezer
Tune In: https://tmt.ph/tunein

#TheManilaTimes
#sports
#olympics
#paris2024
