Moment French border guards ram their speedboat into an overloaded migrant vessel as it sets off from a Calais beach bound for Britain<br /><br />Shocking footage has emerged of the moment a French border guard vessel attempted to ram a heavily overloaded migrant craft as it set out for the perilous Channel crossing to Britain this morning. <br /><br />The black inflatable dinghy carrying dozens of migrants set off from Gravelines beach close to the port of Calais around 7:30am local time this morning in what appeared to be fairly calm waters. <br /><br />But the migrants made it less than 100ft into the sea before being spotted by a French board guard unit in a speedboat.<br /><br />Flashing blue and red lights, the speedboat made a couple of close passes by the dinghy, warning it to turn around and head for shore. <br /><br />When the dinghy continued on, the coastguard craft pulled up alongside before appearing to ram the sorely overloaded migrant vessel. <br /><br />Witnesses on the beach in Gravelines said the migrant boat was then pursued by a French naval vessel and the coastguard search and rescue craft 'Ridens' which attempted to shepherd the dinghy into Calais port. <br /><br />https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-13756833/Moment-French-border-guards-ram-speedboat-overloaded-migrant-vessel-sets-Calais-beach-bound-Britain.html
