A tourist who thought she just had a "high fever" discovered she had come down with a potentially fatal tropical virus.<br /><br />Rosemarie Moore, 28, was on an expedition in Suriname, South America, in search of anacondas for work in April 2024 when she start to feel unwell. <br /><br />On day four of her 10 day trek, Rosemarie started to get pain in both of her eyes - but she initially thought it was a headache.<br /><br />But after three days of the eye she knew it was "something serious" and started getting a fever so she skipped one night of hunting.<br /><br />On the last day Rosemarie ended up with a full body rash but she says she wasn't able to go to the hospital until she got back to the US - as they were in a remote location.
