Ed Sheeran dives into row over his 'natural pool': Star goes for a dip in specially installed pond at his £3.7m Suffolk home - despite telling disgruntled neighbours he WOULDN'T swim in it

Ed Sheeran has risked reigniting a bitter feud with his neighbours after he filmed himself leaping into his 'wildlife pond' on his £3.7million Suffolk estate.

The Shape of You singer can be seen on Instagram leaping into the kidney-shaped pool, which was built at his home in 2017 originally on the condition it was not for recreational activities.

Sheeran, 33, claimed the pond was aimed at championing wildlife and built to 'support nature conservation'.

He later won an appeal which allowed him to swim in the pond, but not before it had sparked a furious backlash from neighbours, who feared it would promote a 'wild lifestyle' instead.

To settle the dispute Suffolk Coastal District Council was sent to investigate the pond – which is in the middle of a field – in 2019. Inspectors found there was 'no evidence' it was being used as a swimming pool. It later allowed an appeal, permitting the pond to be used for recreational activities.

In an Instagram video released this week, the star was seen jumping into the pond wearing just his swimming shorts, which risks infuriating the neighbours who objected.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/tvshowbiz/article-13764465/Ed-Sheeran-pond-daily-routine-neighbours-complained.html
