Derby County's Ebou Adams produced a contender for one of the worst misses ever against his former club Cardiff City.<br /><br />With Derby leading 1-0 in the closing stages of the Championship clash, Adams appeared almost certain to add to his team's lead.<br /><br />The midfielder bore down on an open goal after Cardiff goalkeeper Jak Alnwick had come rushing out.<br /><br />Although he was being tracked by a defender, Adams still had plenty of time to guide the ball into the empty net.<br /><br />However, to the bewilderment of everyone inside the ground, the 28-year-old failed to do so as he was unable to make a proper connection and somehow ended up sending the ball wide.<br /><br />Thankfully for Adams, his miss didn't prove costly in terms of the result, with Derby still winning 1-0 courtesy of a goal from Kenzo Goudmijn in the 28th minute.<br /><br />Adams joined Derby permanently from Cardiff in July, having spent the second half of last season on loan with the Rams.<br /><br />He had signed for Cardiff in 2022 and played 13 times for the club.<br /><br />Derby are currently in 8th place in the Championship, with Cardiff bottom after taking just one point from their first five games.
