LUKE LITTLER has won the World Series of Darts after beating Michael Smith in the final.

The teenage sensation has added another trophy to his cabinet at the first time of asking after sinking Smith 11-4.

He cruised past home favorite Michael van Gerwen in the semi-final with an 11-4 victory, winning nine consecutive legs to book a place in the final.

And Smith also proved no match for The Nuke who was deadly with the trebles throughout the night in Amsterdam.

Littler lost the first two legs in the final before getting on the scoreboard with a 140 checkout.

That inspired the 17-year-old who played with pomp, and he raced into a 7-3 lead by the interval.

It looked like Smith would not win another leg but the former world champion managed a Big Fish checkout of 170 in the 14th leg to save himself.

However, that ended up being nothing more than a consolation as Littler won the next leg to seal his victory.

Littler has now won two major trophies this year, having won Premier League Darts in May.

After picking up the trophy Littler said: “I’m just happy to win. It’s been a long day of course.

“Waking up early didn’t like that one. I managed to get over the line against Chris (Dobey). I relaxed tonight and I played very well.”

On the fans chanting his name, he added: “It tells me there’s only one Luke Littler!

“This time last year I was on the Development Tour. I won a few events and my name was getting mentioned. But at the Worlds, that’s when everyone knew who I was.

“The trophies I’ve won, the finals I’ve lost this year, I’m just building on it and I’m winning more.

“It will take some beating this weekend. It’s a busy schedule with the winter to come. I’m ready for it.”
