Reports of a man carrying a gun brought armed police to Buchanan Bus Station on the afternoon of Saturday 14 September. <br /><br />The bus the man intended to travel on and the station were evacuated though were reopened when it was concluded there was no wider risk to public safety. <br /><br />A 50 year old man has been arrested in connection with the incident though it is understood that the item thought to be a gun was actually a gun-shaped toy. <br /><br />Officers are continuing to investigate the incident.<br /><br />It occurred at one of the busiest travel times for the station causing inconvenience for travellers and staff.<br />
