Firefighters and locals battle blaze as fires sweep northern Portugal<br /><br />Firefighters and local residents battle flames surrounding the Portuguese village of Busturenga, in an area where several wildfires have been raging for several days. "It was panic," says Maria Fatima, a resident recalling the fire's arrival in Busturenga, "I'd never seen anything like it." Portugal has received pledges of support from its European partners since the outbreak of a string of fires over the weekend.
