Three lanes have been closed on the M6 southbound between junctions 31 (Samlesbury) and 30 (Blacow Bridge) this afternoon (September 26).<br /><br />National Highways said the closure was due to a collision and delays of 70 minutes have been building in the area.<br /><br />Traffic officers have been called to clear the scene, with normal traffic conditions expected between 7.30pm and 7.45pm.<br /><br />Lane three reopened at around 4.35pm, but six miles of congestion remains in the area.<br /><br />Traffic maps also show delays are building on the M55 and M61 as motorists attempt to join M6.<br /><br />For live updates, visit:
