Typhoon 'Krathon' makes landfall in Taiwan, causes damage

Typhoon 'Krathon' makes landfall as a Category 1 typhoon around midday on Oct. 3, 2024 in the port city of Kaohsiung, having weakened as it rolled in but still felling trees and street-lights and sending debris flying, with knee-high flood waters flowing in some districts of Kaohsiung. The 'weird' typhoon slammed into southwestern Taiwan, bringing heavy rain and flooding, cutting power to about 178,000 homes and causing two deaths in the island's east. The typhoon is forecast to slowly work its way up Taiwan's flat western plain and weaken further by October 4, becoming a tropical depression over the central region.

SETTV VIDEO via REUTERS

Subscribe to The Manila Times Channel - https://tmt.ph/YTSubscribe

Visit our website at https://www.manilatimes.net

Follow us:
Facebook - https://tmt.ph/facebook
Instagram - https://tmt.ph/instagram
Twitter - https://tmt.ph/twitter
DailyMotion - https://tmt.ph/dailymotion

Subscribe to our Digital Edition - https://tmt.ph/digital

Check out our Podcasts:
Spotify - https://tmt.ph/spotify
Apple Podcasts - https://tmt.ph/applepodcasts
Amazon Music - https://tmt.ph/amazonmusic
Deezer: https://tmt.ph/deezer
Tune In: https://tmt.ph/tunein

#TheManilaTimes
#tmtnews
#typhoonkrathon
#taiwan
#kaohsiung
