More than 30 air strikes have taken place in the southern suburbs of Beirut - where Hezbollah has a strong presence.<br /><br />Huge flames and plumes of smoke could be seen billowing into the night sky, while residents were filmed fleeing in panic as explosions echoed in the background.<br /><br />It comes after the Israeli military had warned people to evacuate and said last night it had killed 440 Hezbollah fighters in its ground invasion in southern Lebanon.
