Marcos, first lady join Asean Summit opening ceremony<br /><br />President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Oct. 9, 2024, arrives at the Lao National Convention Center in Vientiane, Laos for the opening ceremony of the 44th and 45th Association of Southeast Asian Nations (Asean) Summit. Marcos and other heads of state were welcomed by Asean Summit Chairman and Lao People's Democratic Republic Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone and his wife Vandara Siphandone.
