Hurricane Milton triggers Tornadoes across Florida<br /> #florida #tornado #hurricane<br />Hurricane Milton is due to make landfall in Florida around 10pm EST on Wednesday, with 5.9 million people in the Tampa area under mandatory evacuation orders.<br /><br />READ MORE: https://www.thetimes.com/world/us-wor...<br /><br />It is the first time in more than a century that Tampa is expected to be hit directly, and comes two weeks after Hurricane Helene wreaked havoc in Florida.<br /><br />Storm surges could reach 15ft (4.5m) above ground level, with “catastrophic” flash-flooding, the authorities have warned.<br /><br />A Category 3 storm has winds between 111 and 129 mph. It was classed as Category 4 until Wednesday around 4pm EST (9pm BST).<br /><br />The weakening winds, however, have been accompanied by a growing range.
