This drone footage shows a thief trying to evade capture - by swimming through a lake to hide on an island. <br /><br />Chad Lambert, 35, made his unusual getaway after stealing a bottle of wine from a shop.<br /><br />A court heard Lambert was challenged by staff at a store in Bristol when she started to act suspiciously. <br /><br />He then smashed a window to get behind the counter, picked up a bottle of wine and took the contents of the till.<br /><br />The thief then ran into Eastviille Park where he discarded clothing and a bag before he ran into the lake and swam to the small island in the middle.<br /><br />Avon and Somerset Police used a drone to follow Lambert's movements on the island in the foliage to help locate him.<br /><br />Officers were then able to reach the island in a boat provided by the fire brigade and arrest him.<br /><br />Lambert, of Bristol, was sentenced to 26 weeks in prison on Monday 21 October after he pleaded guilty to aggravated burglary on Saturday 19 October at around 1pm.<br /><br />He was also ordered to pay £154 in compensation.
