The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said “Leon” (international name: Kong-rey) has intensified into a super typhoon while moving over the Philippine Sea on Wednesday morning, Oct. 30.<br /><br />Leon is packing maximum sustained winds of 185 kilometers per hour (kph) near its center and gusts reaching 230 kph.<br /><br />As of 10 a.m., the center of the super typhoon was located 350 kilometers east of Calayan, Cagayan, and is advancing west northwestward at 10 kph.<br /><br />READ MORE: https://mb.com.ph/2024/10/30/leon-becomes-a-super-typhoon
