Deep River Boys <br /><br />"Dream Street" <br /><br />RCA Victor 20-2305 <br /><br />The Deep River Boys is a group of four singers. <br /><br />The ensemble was active from the mid-1930s until the 1980s--the singers changed over time. <br /><br />The original group consisted of Harry Douglass (baritone), Vernon Gardner (first tenor), George Lawson (second tenor) and Edward Ware (bass). <br /><br />Sounds like the Ink Spots, the Platters? <br /><br />In 1936, all of the boys -- Harry Douglas (baritone), Vernon Gardner (first tenor), George Lawson (second tenor), Jimmy Lundy, and Edward Ware (bass) -- were students at Hampton Institute in Virginia. <br /><br />They began with performances on radio.
