Duct-taped banana could fetch $1.5M at Sotheby's fall art sales

Sotheby’s preview of their autumn art sales in New York City on Nov. 8, 2024 offers an atypical sight -- a banana duct-taped to a wall. The conceptual piece, titled 'Comedian,' by Maurizio Cattelan, debuted in 2019 at Art Basel in Miami and became a viral sensation. Sotheby’s Lucius Elliott, head of Contemporary and The Now Evening auctions, estimates it will sell for $1 million to $1.5 million when it goes under the hammer on Nov. 20.

REUTERS VIDEO

Subscribe to The Manila Times Channel - https://tmt.ph/YTSubscribe
Visit our website at https://www.manilatimes.net

Follow us:
Facebook - https://tmt.ph/facebook
Instagram - https://tmt.ph/instagram
Twitter - https://tmt.ph/twitter
DailyMotion - https://tmt.ph/dailymotion

Subscribe to our Digital Edition - https://tmt.ph/digital
Sign up to our newsletters: https://tmt.ph/newsletters

Check out our Podcasts:
Spotify - https://tmt.ph/spotify
Apple Podcasts - https://tmt.ph/applepodcasts
Amazon Music - https://tmt.ph/amazonmusic
Deezer: https://tmt.ph/deezer
Tune In: https://tmt.ph/tunein

#themanilatimes
#worldnews
#banana
#art
