Pizza isn’t magical to tired employees. But, what is? <br /><br />When hourly employees have been working overtime for weeks and haven’t seen their families… bringing in free pizza isn’t going to make things OK. <br /><br />You as a leader need to SHOW with actions that match your words that your people matter most! If you fail at this, then the price you pay may be a steep one. <br /><br />Don’t act surprised when employees: <br /><br />– Slow their work to “half-speed” (which doubles your labor costs). <br />– Quit (which increases your recruiting and training costs). <br />– Welcome a union with open arms. <br /><br />Do UNEXPECTED things they’ll appreciate that will make them feel acknowledged and valued.
