The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) have conducted operations at the Kamal Adwan Hospital in northern Gaza, alleging it served as a Hamas stronghold. An Israeli airstrike on December 26 killed 50 people in a building adjacent to the hospital that was housing hospital staff and their families. <br />On December 27, Israeli forces raided the hospital, leading to the evacuation of patients and staff. Reports indicate that parts of the hospital were set on fire during the raid. <br /><br />The IDF claims the hospital was used by Hamas militants for terrorist activities.
