India's ISRO sends navigation satellite into space

India on Jan. 29, 2025 sent a new navigation satellite into orbit from the Satish Dhawan Space Centre in Sriharikota in the state of Andhra Pradesh. The NVS-02 satellite, attached to Indian Space Research Organization’s (ISRO) GSLV-F15 rocket, was launched at about 6:23 a.m. (0053 GMT), marking the latest step in India's efforts to expand its Navigation with Indian Constellation (NavIC) system. The launch, ISRO's 100th, comes as competition in space intensifies, with countries racing to expand satellite networks that power everything from defense operations to smartphone navigation and financial transactions. India, historically a smaller player, is increasing its launch cadence, with ISRO planning 30 missions by March 2025.

INDIAN SPACE RESEARCH ORGANIZATION / REUTERS

Subscribe to The Manila Times Channel - https://tmt.ph/YTSubscribe

Visit our website at https://www.manilatimes.net

Follow us:
Facebook - https://tmt.ph/facebook
Instagram - https://tmt.ph/instagram
Twitter - https://tmt.ph/twitter
DailyMotion - https://tmt.ph/dailymotion

Subscribe to our Digital Edition - https://tmt.ph/digital

Check out our Podcasts:
Spotify - https://tmt.ph/spotify
Apple Podcasts - https://tmt.ph/applepodcasts
Amazon Music - https://tmt.ph/amazonmusic
Deezer: https://tmt.ph/deezer
Tune In: https://tmt.ph/tunein

#TheManilaTimes
#tmtnews
#india
#ISRO
#spacemission
#satellite
