This is a radio documentary made by Historyradio.org on the life of Pablo Neruda, a communist poet who died about the time that Salvador Allende was assassinated, and is therefore often linked to Chile's struggle for independence. He won the Nobel prize for literature in 1971. His life spans some very formative years for Latin America, and his story is therefore quite interesting.

I used the text from a publication that was labeled creative commons in the UNESCO database as a basis for this documentary. I publish it here under the same terms as the text. Even if there is an audio tag at the start at the end of this show, feel free to remove it, or adapt the audio any way you want. But you must credit UNESCO as authors of the script.

Historyradio.org is a free 24/7 educational radio stream, available online and in apps.
