More than 150 false killer whales have been euthanised after a mass stranding on Tasmania’s northwest coast near Arthur River.<br /><br />The pod of 157 whales remained stranded for over 48 hours before experts, facing challenging conditions, made the difficult decision to begin euthanasia on February 20.<br /><br />Wildlife veterinarians confirmed the procedure was humane and necessary.
