Drone views show massive sinkhole swallowing Brazilian town<br /><br />A north-eastern town in Brazil, declared last week, February 11, a state of public calamity due to severe erosion threatening homes, according to the municipality.<br /><br />The geological phenomenon affecting Buriticupu is known as "voçorocas" and it has created large craters, some stretching hundreds of meters, advancing toward residential areas.<br /><br />A technical report by the Municipal Engineering Department highlighted that the problem is worsening during the current intense rainy season.
