A motorcyclist suffered multiple injuries, including a broken shoulder and internal bleeding, after hitting a damaged road patch and sliding into a rain ditch in Swindon.<br /><br />Jim Dodds, 56, was rounding a bend when he lost control and was thrown from his bike.<br /><br />Swindon Borough Council told him the ditch was "meant to be there," but he later found it had been filled in.<br /><br />The crash caused his insurance to triple, and he was off work for six weeks.<br /><br />A council spokesperson said he could appeal if dissatisfied with their response.
