A smallholder who cares for 140 rescue animals has won a two-year battle to remain at her sanctuary in the Scottish Borders.<br /><br />Tracey Milton, who moved to the five-acre site from Somerset, was told by enforcement officers she had no right to live there despite the previous owner being granted permission.<br /><br />After a legal fight, Scottish Borders Council’s review committee ruled she could stay for life.<br /><br />Tracey, who has chronic COPD and depression, says the decision ensures she can continue caring for her animals and hopes to offer visits to those with disabilities and mental health issues.
