Hundreds of excited shoppers, local politicians, and rugby fans gathered this morning (Thursday) in Coleraine to witness the grand opening of Lidl’s largest store in Northern Ireland.<br /><br />The event, which took place at the Riverside Retail Park, marked the arrival of the retailer’s most ambitious venture to date.<br /><br />Coleraine Mayor Ciarán McQuillan was joined by local hero, former Irish rugby star Andrew Trimble, to ceremoniously cut the ribbon, ushering in a new era for the area’s shopping experience.<br /><br />The £9million store is the proud new flagship for Lidl in the region, a significant upgrade from its previous location within the same retail complex, where the brand has been serving the community since 2005.<br /><br />The moment the doors swung open at 8am, a wave of eager customers poured in, ready to explore the impressive new layout and discover the exciting offers. The store, sprawling with extensive aisles and stocked with a broad range of products, soon became a hive of activity.<br /><br />As shoppers ventured through the new space, they were treated to a blend of supplier sampling, family-friendly entertainment, and the irresistible allure of Lidl’s iconic opening day bargains.
