Named the world's tallest rollercoaster at 456ft (139m) when it opened in 2005, Kingda Ka was demolished at the Six Flags theme park in New Jersey.<br /><br />Local officials warned that surrounding areas may hear a "series of rapid explosions" coming from the theme park as the implosion took place.<br /><br />The ride is one of several being retired at the park, making way for new attractions.
