Republican Sen. John Kennedy of Louisiana talked a good while with Larry Kudlow about what Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has been saying about the economy at large, and high prices especially, Thursday.

They covered a lot of ground in the interview, but two parts really stood out for me. For one thing, Kennedy talking about the three-prong approach to getting the economy back on track in a way that works for everyday Americans, gets prices down and basically can start to undo the insane damage that Democrat liberal policies championed by the MSM have done.

And he pointed out that of the three important measures, it’s spending cuts that get the most attention because, and I quote, “when you trim fat, pigs squeal!”

As usually I’d like to remind you that who the squealing pig tofu crowd isn’t just libs and Democrats, it’s the “mainstream” media (but I repeat myself) who take it as a given that liberal economic policy rules and conservative ideas are cruel and unusual, or whatever words they’re drumming up lately to voice their squealin’ and hollerin’. Save, of course, for a few rare exceptions like Fox and Newsmax etc.

It’s like I always say. There’s never a bad enough thing that some share of the press won’t call it awesome. And the share increases proportionally with how nutty left wing the thing is.

If I knew Latin I’d close with some kind of clever phrase like “ipso facto” or “carpe diem” or “veni, vidi, vici” or something. But, you know, I don’t, SO … Q.E.D.
