Drummer and composer Phelan Burgoyne grew up a stones throw away from this mysterious place - all that remains of Slaughden is a tiny spit of land separating the Alde river from the churning north sea. This trio featuring ECM recording artists Kit Downes on piano and Fred Thomas on double bass draws its musical metaphors from this place - the river, the sea and the places in between."
