In a late-night altercation near a private hotel in Chitradurga, Karnataka, BJP Madhugiri District President Hanumantegowda was taken into custody for allegedly assaulting PSI Gadhilingappa. <br /><br />The incident occurred on Turuvanuru Road when PSI Gadhilingappa questioned Hanumantegowda and his group about their presence on the road late at night. This reportedly led to a confrontation, during which Hanumantegowda allegedly attacked the officer, causing injuries to his hand and fingers. The injured PSI was later admitted to the district hospital for treatment. <br /><br />Following the incident, Hanumantegowda was taken into custody. However, he countered the allegations, claiming that he was the one assaulted by the police. <br /><br />Rangaswamy, the driver of Hanumantegowda’s car and an eyewitness, told the media that the police used harsh words against Hanumantegowda, which led to a heated argument and eventually turned physical. <br /><br />The case has been registered at the Chitradurga City Police Station, and further investigation is underway. <br />
