‘A WONDERFUL Newton Abbot institution’ is how town mayor, Cllr Alex Hall, described the Country Table Café as it celebrated its 29th anniversary on Monday, March 31.<br />Cllr Hall said: ‘Well done to the Country Table for being here for 29 years.<br />‘It is a wonderful Newton Abbot institution. <br />‘I for one am looking forward to many more coffees.<br />‘Thank you from the town for being here for us.’<br />A popular haunt among residents and visitors alike, The Country Table Café opened its doors for the first time in March, 1996.<br />And twenty-nine years later the Bank Street café is still going strong, with owner Karen Brady employing 14 members of staff.<br />Karen said: ‘It is good news, especially in this present climate.<br />‘We got through covid, we got through alot.’<br />
