A UFO-like drone that can light up a whole neighbourhood has been launched.<br /><br />The Flying Sun provides 300,000 lumens of light from above - the equivalent to three huge stadium floodlights.<br /><br />Washington-based Freefly Systems say the device can illuminate a 137,000 sqft area to one foot candle, a unit of measurement for amount of light that falls on a surface.<br /><br />Designed for single-operator use, the U.S.-firm say it's perfect for security, roadwork, construction, and emergency response.<br /><br />The Flying Sun can operated flying free or be paired with a tether system and electric vehicle for virtually silent and unlimited uptime.<br /><br />The drone is now available for pre-order, with the most powerful Flying Sun 1000 version priced at around £46,000.
