Residents in Kenilworth, Warwickshire, have criticised the local council for spending £42,000 on repainting a pedestrian area in bright yellow, now known as "Custard Corner."<br /><br />The new look, intended to "renew and refresh" the space, has been described as "vile," "nauseating," and "overpowering."<br /><br />Locals are unhappy with the choice of colour, with some likening it to a gigantic double yellow line.<br /><br />Critics argue the money could have been better spent on local services.<br /><br />Despite this, the council defends the decision, stating the yellow paint was the most cost-effective option to improve the area following its pedestrianisation during the pandemic.
