ಏಕರೂಪ ನಾಗರಿಕ ಸಂಹಿತೆ (UCC) ಹೆಸರೇ ಹೇಳುವಂತೆ ದೇಶದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ನಾಗರಿಕರಿಗೂ ಒಂದೇ ಕಾನೂನು ಎಂದು ಅರ್ಥ. ಪ್ರಸ್ತುತ ಮದುವೆ, ವಿಚ್ಛೇದನ ಮತ್ತು ಉತ್ತರಾಧಿಕಾರ ಸೇರಿದಂತೆ ವಿಷಯಗಳು ಧರ್ಮ ಆಧಾರಿತ ವೈಯಕ್ತಿಕ ಕಾನೂನುಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ನಿರ್ಧಾರವಾಗುತ್ತಿವೆ. ಆದರೆ ಈ ಕಾಯ್ದೆ ಜಾರಿಯಾದ ಬಳಿಕ, ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಧರ್ಮದವರಿಗೂ ಒಂದೇ ಕಾನೂನು ಅನ್ವಯ ಆಗಲಿದೆ.The Uniform Civil Code (UCC), as the name suggests, means a single law for all citizens of the country.
