The community has been struck with sorrow following the passing of Ruby Maddox, a visionary leader and advocate for social change, whose work touched countless lives. Ruby, who was the Founding Director of Leaders of the Free World (LFW), passed away recently, leaving a legacy that will continue to inspire and empower individuals across the globe.<br /><br />Ruby Maddox was a force for good, dedicated to the Idea that young Black men deserve access to opportunity, education, and the full potential of their lives. Her work at LFW, an organization aimed at leadership development and cross-cultural exchange, has had a profound Impact on the lives of young leaders, particularly communities. Under Ruby's guidance, LFW became a transformative movement, rooted in the bellef that education and leadership training are key to unlocking greater potential.<br /><br />Beyond her leadership at LFW, Ruby was a strategic consultant and purpose coach at Direct Your Purpose, where she worked with individuals and organizations to help them find direction and purpose in their work. She was a StartingBloc Fellow, an honor that recognizes leaders committed to social impact and positive change. Ruby's career also saw her in various leadership roles, including Director of LEEP Projects at Clark University and Co-founder of Gardening the Community, an organization focused on youth development and urban agriculture.
