Pembrokeshire primary school due to open despite sewage flood incident

A Pembrokeshire primary school was still due to open today, after an incident over the weekend, when parts of the premises and playground were flooded with sewage after a sewer main burst.<br />Dŵr Cymru/Welsh Water confirmed its teams were at Broad Haven Primary School on Saturday and Sunday, to repair the burst main pipe; and conduct deep cleaning and disinfecting.<br />Local Councillor Nick Neumann said the pipe, which carries sewage waste from the village up to the sewage works, had burst on Saturday.<br />A spokesperson for Welsh Water said: "The affected area has been isolated and made safe, and resurfacing will take please early next week.<br />“We have been liaising with education officials, and this will not impact the planned school reopening. The whole yard has been cleaned and sanitised and we apologise for any inconvenience caused.”<br />
