A major fire at Henley College in Coventry has destroyed much of the abandoned building, which was used as a filming location for the BBC drama Phoenix Rise.<br /><br />The blaze, which started around 7:15 p.m. on April 29, 2025, saw 75 firefighters battling the flames.<br /><br />The college, no longer in use for education, had been a popular filming site for the series.<br /><br />Thick black smoke was visible from miles away, and 45 firefighters remained at the scene the following morning.<br /><br />West Midlands Fire Service reported that 70% of the building was affected by the fire.
