The ECMWF model highlights a swath of moderate to heavy rain stretching from the Mid-South into the Ohio Valley by Friday evening. The heaviest rainfall is forecast over parts of Kentucky, southern Illinois, and Indiana, where totals could exceed an inch. Lighter rain is also seen extending northeast into the Lower Great Lakes and southwest into portions of the Arkansas and Missouri Ozarks, while much of the West remains dry.
