He declared, “No one will pull our troops from our own territory. It is my constitutional duty to protect Ukraine’s sovereignty.” He warned that Russia’s demands for Ukrainian withdrawal show no genuine desire for peace.<br /><br />Russia’s President Vladimir Putin, whose forces control a fifth of Ukraine and are slowly advancing, has stood firm on his conditions for ending the conflict, including the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from four Ukrainian regions Russia claims.
