Minister of Homeland Security Roger Alexander announced that Cabinet has approved a plan to absorb 280 Auxiliary Fire Officers into the T&T Fire Service. <br /><br />Speaking at the Post Cabinet media briefing on Thursday, Alexander said this would be done at no cost to address understaffing concerns.<br /><br />He said there is a shortage of 420 fire officers as of this month. The T&T Fire Service is expected to have a recruitment drive to address this staff shortage.<br />
