Kilauea volcano in Hawaii erupts in spectacular fashion<br /><br />Kilauea Volcano erupted in spectacular fashion on Sunday, May 25, with lava fountains exceeding 1000 feet (305 meters) according to the US Geological Survey (USGS).<br /><br />USGS said the latest episode began at 0415 HWT (0215 GMT), with the Hawaiian Volcano Observatory stating that activity began in the north vent, which escalated to high fountains by 0450 HWT (0250 GMT).
