Marc Andreessen called robotics “the biggest industry in the planet's history” during remarks at the Reagan National Economic Forum. According to Benzinga, the billionaire investor said general-purpose robotics will scale massively in the next decade and highlighted Tesla’s Optimus humanoid robot as a key example. He urged the U.S. to lead in the advanced manufacturing of robots, drones, and vehicles to avoid falling behind China. Tesla CEO Elon Musk said Optimus could become “the biggest product ever,” potentially becoming more significant than Tesla's vehicle business. Musk said Tesla will begin low-volume production of Optimus in 2025 for internal use, targeting 5,000 units this year. Broader commercial rollout is expected in 2026 with production scaling to 50,000 units and a price range of $20,000 to $30,000.
