Meta Platforms is facing a $109 million lawsuit from Eminem’s music publisher, Eight Mile Style, according to People Magazine. The lawsuit cites the alleged copyright infringement involving 243 songs in Reels and Original Audio features. The suit claims Meta failed to properly license the music, which appeared in millions of videos streamed billions of times, and is seeking $150,000 per infringement. A Meta spokesperson said the company had been negotiating in good faith with Eight Mile Style and was disappointed the publisher chose to sue instead of continuing talks. Meta Platforms is confronting multiple legal challenges, including a U.S. antitrust lawsuit that could require Zuckerberg to divest Instagram.
