Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh – In a shocking case of mob justice, a brother-in-law and sister-in-law (जीजा - साली) who married for love were publicly humiliated in Majhgain village. The couple was forced to wear a garland of shoes and paraded around the village by an enraged mob. The youth was also beaten up, and the entire act was captured on video, now viral on social media.

The couple had returned to the village a day after marriage, triggering violent backlash. Earlier, the girl’s brother died by suicide, allegedly over family shame. Following this, the couple too attempted suicide by jumping into a well but were rescued by locals. The village head intervened, saving them from further violence.

So far, no official police complaint has been filed. Station in-charge Raju Rao confirmed an investigation is underway into the viral video’s authenticity. Strict action has been promised if the incident is recent and confirmed.

🛑 A case that raises serious questions on mob justice, honour-based violence, and state failure to protect basic rights.

#LakhimpurKheri #UPNews #MobJustice #HonourCrime #HumanRightsViolation #TalibanStylePunishment #LoveMarriage #IndiaNews #SocialInjustice #ViralVideo #SuicideAttempt #PoliceInvestigation #RuralIndia
