New Delhi, June 17, 2025 (ANI): BJP leader RP Singh backed Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee’s announcement of halting Sikh pilgrimage to Pakistan amidst diplomatic tensions . "It is a very welcome step by SGPC. They have stood by the nation. For them, the nation comes first, then anything else. We can go next year or in the coming years. This year, since there has been Operation Sindoor and Pakistan keeps sending terrorists to the country, how can we have a good relationship with them?.. So, it is a welcome step by SGPC", he said in a statement . BJP leader RP Singh highlighted Prime Minister Modi’s work done for the development of Sikh community, as Pro-Khalistani group staged an ant-India protest ahead of G7 summit in Canada. "The comment of Damdami Taksal reflects the mood of the Sikhs and Sikh culture. Sikhism is rooted in compassion and dignity. The children who were doing the act there, probably are not aware of what PM Modi has done for Sikhs", he said in a statement
