After being discontinued in 2023, the Jeep Cherokee is set to make a fully revamped comeback for the 2026 model year.

The midsize SUV, which enjoyed a solid 10-year run in the United States, returns with a refreshed design aligned with the brand’s new styling language, already seen in the Wagoneer S and the 2025 Compass. The first images reveal the iconic front fascia with the signature seven-slot grille and a rugged body typical of Jeep vehicles.

Built on Stellantis' STLA Large Transverse platform, the new Cherokee will offer a range of powertrain options, including a confirmed hybrid version, as well as internal combustion and fully electric variants. The electric version may follow the footsteps of the Wagoneer S, which features a 100 kWh battery and dual motors delivering 600 hp, although the Cherokee is expected to offer more moderate performance.

According to Jeep CEO Bob Broderdorf, the new Cherokee will be a key model in expanding the brand’s lineup, offering more technology, standard features, and competitive pricing. Positioned between the Compass and the Grand Cherokee, the model aims to secure a strong foothold in the largest segment of the automotive market.

The official launch is expected later in 2025, with sales starting in 2026, including in the United States.

Photo: Instagram @jeep
