New Jersey was rocked by a powerful storm on July 14 that dumped intense rainfall across multiple counties, causing dangerous flash flooding and widespread power outages. Some areas were hit with 3 to 4 inches of rain per hour, overwhelming drainage systems and submerging roads and neighborhoods.<br /><br />The National Weather Service issued a Flood Watch, warning of the high risk of flash floods—and those warnings quickly became reality.
