RARE TIGER TRIO ILLUSION CAPTURED IN WILDLIFE SHOT
WITH PIX AND VID
By Shuk Yee Tsang
A breathtaking optical illusion of three tigers appearing as one has been captured in the wild after a mother and her two cubs were spotted cooling off together in
a crocodile-infested lake.
Businessman Talvinder Chohan, 43, from Kidderminster, UK, was on safari in a 4x4 vehicle when he spotted the incredible scene in India’s Ranthambore Tiger Reserve.
He’s been passionate about wildlife photography since childhood and calls this encounter one of his most extraordinary yet.
Where the elusive big cats huddled tightly together in the water for safety, creating the illusion of a perfectly aligned trio.
Tigers are typically solitary animals, making sightings of more than one at a time a rare treat for wildlife watchers. In this case, the mother, known locally as Ridhi,
was joined by her large cubs for a serene but tense moment in the lake, home to numerous mugger crocodiles.
The striking alignment of the tigers created what some viewers described as a “tiger illusion” a surreal visual of a single creature with multiple heads or a perfectly mirrored image.
Talvinder said: "The mother and her large cubs were cooling off in Raj Bagh Lake. The lake is full of mugger crocodiles, and the trio packed closely together for security.
"It is very rare to see three tigers together like this in the wild, as they are typically solitary animals.
"It looked like a real family unit. Some people say it’s hard enough to get one tiger in a frame, let alone three!
"It was the first time I saw them. The mum is called Ridhi but the cubs are unnamed as of yet.
"We were in a 4x4 safari vehicle and at a distance so as not to disturb the animals.
"We had been tracking them, and the local guides have a feel and understanding of the tigers' movements from experience."
END
