Warner Bros Discovery announced Monday it will split into two companies by mid-2026, according to CNBC. Warner Bros will house its studios and streaming businesses, while Discovery Global will include its networks and news. Warner Bros. will include DC Studios and the HBO Max streaming service as part of its movie and studio operations. Discovery Global will cover entertainment, sports, and news networks such as CNN, TNT Sports, Discovery, Discovery+, and Bleacher Report. CEO David Zaslav said the company has strengthened its business by building a profitable global streaming service and revitalizing its studios. WBD announced the split to adapt to the shift from cable to streaming, creating two public companies in a move similar to Comcast’s upcoming cable asset spinoff.
